The final conference of the Disaster Journalism: Preventing the News from Turning into a Disaster project was successfully held in Ankara, bringing together project partners, academics, communication professionals, public institutions, and media representatives.

Coordinated by Selçuk University and implemented in partnership with RTÜK, Konya Metropolitan Municipality, the University of Primorska (Slovenia), Kyiv University (Ukraine), and the University of Vigo (Spain), the project concluded with a comprehensive conference where the main achievements, research findings, and educational outputs developed throughout the project were presented.

During the conference, discussions focused on ethical disaster reporting, combating misinformation during crises, and strengthening responsible communication practices in disaster and emergency situations. The event provided an important platform for knowledge exchange among institutions, journalists, and experts working in the field of disaster communication.

The conference marked the successful completion of the project, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in promoting reliable, ethical, and socially responsible journalism in times of crisis.
